Parkdean Resorts is offering intrepid ramblers the chance to win a £500 holiday voucher, after teaming up with one of the world’s most popular hiking trails.
The UK’s leading holiday park operator has become an official ‘Way Maker’ for the South West Coast Path, meaning that 14 of Parkdean Resorts’ holiday parks in South West England are now official South West Coast Path Passport Stamping Points.
Walkers who get their Passports stamped at Crantock Beach, Holywell Bay, Lizard Point, Looe Bay, Newquay, Sea Acres, St Minver, and White Acres, in Cornwall; Bideford Bay, Challaborough Bay, Ruda and Torquay in Devon; and Warmwell and West Bay, in Dorset, will have a chance to win a £500 holiday voucher from the award-winning company.
Commenting on the news, Rob Warner, Operations Director at Parkdean Resorts, said: “Hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers visit our parks in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset each year, and the South West Coast Path is a key part of many family holidays to the region. We’re delighted to have a number of our parks joining the Trail as official Passport Stamping Points, helping ‘explorers’ make their adventures even more memorable.
“As an official South West Coast Path Way Maker, we are really looking forward to welcoming everyone venturing on the path, and we can’t wait to see hikers fill their South West Coast Path Passports at our designated stamping points.”
Stretching from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset, via Exmoor and North Devon, Cornwall, South Devon and the Dorset coast, the South West Coast Path is the longest of England's National Trails. Having celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, the Trail’s official charity, the South West Coast Path Association, recently released a limited-edition Passport that can be stamped at official Passport Stamping Points throughout the 630-mile route.
Julian Gray, Director of the South West Coast Path Association, said: “We are delighted to have Parkdean Resorts supporting us as a Way Maker business along the South West Coast Path and helping us to protect and care for the Trail its hikers love. The resorts are perfectly positioned with so many of its holiday parks in the South West nestled in areas that boast an extraordinarily wide variety of habitats and coastal scenery for walkers to enjoy. We hope both new and returning walkers enjoy filling in their South West Coast Path Passports at the new designated stamping points and take in the natural beauty along the way.”
