An astonishing amount of litter was collected from Croyde beach and added to our rubbish Christmas Tree throughout December, weighing a total of 83.8kg!
The discarded items included fishing ropes, 2 fishing crates, 3 wellies, and items from a container spill in November 2020 that were lost at sea. This highlights the issue of marine litter, reminding people of our responsibility to help protect our coastlines.
All the rigid plastic will be reused or recycled, and the net pieces have been saved to use in craft activities at Ruda Holiday Park.
Thank you to everyone in the Croyde community who collected litter along the beach and contributed to our rubbish Christmas tree.
